Chuchotage is a specialized form of simultaneous interpreting. In this method, a tour guide system is utilized, consisting of a microphone for the interpreters and headphones for the listeners. This allows the event to be interpreted from a distance to the speaker or the audience. If no technical equipment is available, the interpreters position themselves in close proximity to the speaker and whisper into the listener's ear.

This method is particularly suitable for interpreting for a maximum of two individuals and is frequently used in conversations and interviews.
